Our Spanish students

Where do our students come from?

Our students come from all over the world (see pie chart). The majority of them are European, although we always have some Americans studying with us as well as a number of students from Eastern Europe.

The percentages of our students from different regions of the world is as follows:

  • 85% European (EU members)
  • 5% North America
  • 5% European (non-EU members)
  • 2% Asia
  • 3% Others

The top 10 nationalities are currently German, Italian, British, Swedish, Swiss, Dutch, American, Austrian, French and Russian.

Most of our students are young, professional people who need Spanish to develop their careers. But we also have a large proportion of students who are still full-time students in their own countries as well as an increasing number of people who are simply learning Spanish as a hobby.

How old will your classmates be?

The average age of our students is 30, although we have students as young as 17 and as old as 75.

The age range of students on our intensive courses:

  • 35% 40+
  • 20% 31 to 40 year-olds
  • 20% 21 to 30 year-olds
  • 25% 16 to 20 year-olds

Note that we have a special Over-50s Spanish course, with its own social and cultural programme, for anyone over the age of 50 who prefers to study with people of the same age group.
