Why study English at International House Tarragona?

Cambridge exams

International House Tarragona is an authorised Cambridge English Language Assessment centre for both the organization of and preparation for Cambridge exams such as Starters, Movers, Flyers, KET, PET, First Certificate (FCE), Advanced (CAE) and Proficiency (CPE). Both internal and external students can register with us for Cambridge exams.

We believe that these exams not only motivate children and teenagers, but also give them qualifications which will be very useful to them for their studies and when looking for a job. For the same reasons, many adults also prepare for Cambridge exams with us.

The Fonix – English Competition for Catalan Schools

International House Tarragona organises the regional stage of The Fonix, the English Competition for Catalan Schools, which takes place in all four provinces of Catalonia. This competition started in 2008 and has grown every year.

All schools in Catalonia are entitled to participate and it is free!

Extraescolar services

International House Tarragona organises extraescolar English classes for schools in Tarragona and also sends language assistants to schools to help pupils improve their level of spoken English.

Our teachers

All of the teachers at IH Tarragona are native speakers and hold a teaching qualification such as the Cambridge CELTA or DELTA or the Trinity TESOL Certificate or Diploma. Most are from Britain or Ireland and try to help their students as much as they can to improve their level of English.

Our methodology

We believe that children, teenagers and adults learn better if they are motivated, interested and involved in their own learning. In addition to enthusiasm and dynamism, it is also important for there to be discipline and respect for both teacher and classmates in the classroom.

While there is a strong focus on speaking, pronunciation and listening at International House Tarragona, it is equally important to develop knowledge of vocabulary and grammar.
