Business Spanish courses

Business Spanish

IH Barcelona offers Business Spanish courses designed to help those who need to use the language in their work.

The aim of these courses is to help improve your level of competence in many typical work-related activities such as participating in meetings, using the telephone for business, negotiating and selling, making presentations, etc.

You are also introduced to a wide range of business vocabulary and gain an insight into the sort of cultural differences that you may encounter while working or doing business in a Spanish-speaking country.

The Business Spanish exam

The exam is organised by the Madrid Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the University of Alcalá. The exams are not obligatory, but students taking the six-hour a day course should expect a significant amount of classroom time to be spent on activities designed to help them prepare for these exams.

The exam is available at two levels, Certificado Básico, and Certificado Superior. The lower of the two levels (Básico) recognises that students have a basic competence in Business Spanish which should allow them to perform routine tasks in a Business context. The second level (Superior) recognises a more advanced level of competence and familiarity with the technical language used in the Business world.

The exams are held in the school on the Friday at the end of the course.

Intensive Spanish Course + Business Spanish course

We also offer an intensive course of 2 or more weeks combined with a Business Spanish course.

The intensive course will help students improve their overall level of competency in Spanish, while the Business course will focus more specifically on developing competency levels in a range of work-related activities.

Start dates 2 or more weeks before the Business Spanish course begins (see above).
Price [excluding exam fees] 2-week intensive + 40-hour Business Spanish course: €880
